NBA Free Agency rumors: Golden State Warriors to offer Andre Iguodala three-year deal
The Golden State Warriors are hoping to get a big piece of their dynasty to re-sign soon.
The Golden State Warriors and Andre Iguodala have set a meeting in which the franchise is expected to offer him a three-year deal, according to Marcus Thompson of the Mercury News.
The meeting will take place in Los Angeles, California.
This news comes soon after it was reported that Iguodala had cancelled all of his meetings with possible suitors. The only meetings he had prior to this announcement were with the Houston Rockets and the San Antonio Spurs. Of course, rumors swirled that he could be joining Chris Paul as a new member of the Rockets. Additionally, the Rockets even made him an offer, per Marc Spears of The Undefeated.
However, this may have just been a ploy to get the Warriors to offer more money. If the Rockets made him a lucrative offer, Golden State would be obligated to match it. Although, Houston does not have a lot of money to throw around, so they would first need to dump a major contract.
It appears the Rockets have moved past their pursuit of Iguodala and are looking to acquire Iman Shumpert from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a trade.

Iguodala has blossomed as a member of the Golden State Warriors. While he hasn’t been a starter, he has been vital in the team’s success over the past four seasons. In fact, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 NBA Finals, following his surprising performance.
The Warriors are expected to give Andre Iguodala a hefty sum to keep their core intact. He is the biggest question of Golden State’s offseason, so they will do whatever necessary to keep him.
