San Francisco Giants: Kyle Tucker

The Giants are starting down the very real reality of being over 30 games out of first place at the trade deadline. Johnny Cueto has already made it very clear that he plans to opt out of his contract at the end of the season. Though he is having a bad year, the Giants need to find a way to get some value before he moves on.

The Astros are going to be looking for pitching, and the market is going to be hot all around. They will be looking to maximize their chances of winning the World Series this year, and have enough prospect depth to add not one, but two starters at the deadline. Cueto has the postseason pedigree the Astros need this year.

Kyle Tucker was the fifth overall pick in 2015 and is the best all-around hitter in a farm system that has graduated most of its hitters to the big leagues while becoming skewed toward the mound. Tucker is a polished hitter even at the age of 20. He had 41 extra-base hits last year with 32 steals. Right now, he profiles more as a gap-to-gap line-drive hitter with solid speed.

Tucker is the type of hitter that fits well in the NL West with its parks that do not always reward swinging for the fences. If the Giants can convince the Astros to part ways with him for Cueto, that would be a steal. Tucker will only continue adding more power as he ages and matures.
