LeBron James and Chris Bosh have a long history together, so it makes sense that he’d show some respect for his former teammate’s jersey getting retired.

Former Miami Heat teammates LeBron James and Chris Bosh have a lot of respect for each other, so you know The King was going to show some love for Bosh when the Heat announced they’d be retiring his jersey.

The two were a part of one of the original super teams of this century, alongside Dwyane Wade, that contributed to four NBA Finals appearances and two championships. They signed together in the same offseason, and helped bring the Heat back to the league’s elite after a few years away from the spotlight.

Now, LeBron finds himself dominating the Eastern Conference with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Bosh unfortunately was impacted by health issues and saw his career with the Heat disappear over the last few seasons.

The Heat announced on Tuesday, with free agency in full force, that they’d be releasing Bosh, and would also be retiring his jersey number for all he brought to the organization.

Plenty of players showed their respect for Bosh and the move, including Wade, and LeBron was no exception. The King took to Twitter to give Bosh some love, and brought up the two titles the team won when the star-studded trio was all together.

Heat president Pat Riley also showed his love for Bosh in a statement released by the team, and gave some serious praise for the two-time champion in his departure from the team.

“He is, without a doubt, one of the greatest players in the history of the franchise,” Riley said. “The number “1” will never be worn by another player and we can’t wait to someday hang his jersey in the rafters.”

Who knows if LeBron will get his number retired in Miami, and we know Wade will have his up soon. However, it is weird to think that, of all three players, Bosh would get his up there first.
