3. Most Improved Player of the Year

Most Improved Player is a harder award to project. By definition it’s an award for a player who improves dramatically but it often ends up with a player who simply ends up with more opportunities to put up big stats. Here’s who our staff picked.

Myles Turner — 39 percent
Karl-Anthony Towns — 35 percent
Devin Booker — 17 percent
Also receiving votes: Andrew Wiggins, D’Angelo Russell, Dion Waiters

With Paul George out in Indiana, Myles Turner makes a lot of sense as a candidate. He has two years under his belt and a versatile offensive skill set. With a big increase in usage he could dramatically up his scoring numbers and catch some attention. Towns and Wiggins both seem likely to draw plenty of votes as well, with the Timberwolves primed to improve.
