Jimmie Johnson

Jimmie Johnson is the NASCAR star everyone wants as their getaway driver. He’s the guy you’ll sit around your warehouse or base of operations talking about, saying, “We should get Jimmie Johnson.” “We’ll never get Jimmie Johnson.” And then you go out and find a way to get Jimmie Johnson.

Johnson just made history with his 83rd Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory. He has more Cup Series championships than any active driver or than it should be feasible for any one human being to win. Having seven championships in any major sport is a dynasty. Jimmie Johnson is a walking dynasty. If we listed all the reasons statistically that he’d make a good wheelman, this slide would never end, so we’ll just point out that he’s a multiple race winner again in the 2017 NASCAR season and leave it at that.

But Johnson has everything you could want from a getaway driver. He’s in ridiculously good shape with all those marathons, so you wouldn’t have to worry about his fitness for the job (he’d probably inspire the rest of your crew to work out more). He’s well liked wherever he goes, so he wouldn’t cause any waves within your team. He also had a video game called Jimmie Johnson’s Anything With An Engine, in which you race everything from a couch to a shopping cart, so he’s at least entertained the idea of driving any vehicle you could ask him to drive.

And if you hire Jimmie, chances are great that he’d bring along his crew chief Chad Knaus to help you call the shots. It’s like a two for one deal — except the two are two of the best in NASCAR.
