Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. would appear on almost any list of NASCAR drivers, no matter what the category. This could be a list of 25 NASCAR drivers to consider for your next school run and Dale Jr. would be on it. That’s because he’s the single most beloved active driver in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, and there’s going to be a big hole when he retires at the end of the 2017 NASCAR season.

That legend is more than earned, too. Of course Dale Jr. would make a great getaway driver because he’s a great race car driver. He’s a Daytona 500 winner twice and a two-time Busch Series champion with more than two dozen Cup Series wins over an almost 20 year career.

The only thing he doesn’t have, and would so far seem not likely to earn before he leaves, is a Cup Series championship. Junior currently sits 22nd in the points standings so he’ll need a win to get into the postseason Chase.

Still, since we know he’s leaving, that would free him up for any escapades. And he seems like the kind of guy who wouldn’t mind a little adventure. After all, he’s already got a tricked-out treehouse and he likes putting mayo and banana on his sandwiches for whatever reason.

But there is a big downside to hiring Dale Earnhardt Jr., and that’s his popularity. He’ll be instantly recognizable anywhere, so good luck trying to avoid detection with him behind the wheel. And if anybody has a Dale Call, you’re going to end up in a swamp somewhere.
