WWE Great Balls of Fire 2017 review: What we learned, takeaways, future projections

Ambulance Match
Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman
What we learned: We learned here that the best feud of 2017 isn’t over just yet and I’m ready to see more. What a match and what a scene, am I right?
It was hard to know exactly what kind of match we’d get with Braun Strowman coming back so quickly from injury but I think we can put all of those doubts to bed. The intensity these two show when battling one another is fantastic and it was on full display on Sunday night. These two don’t try to wrestle each other and they shouldn’t. These are two big guys that hate each other who just want to fight and that’s what they did. They went at it immediately and this was an all-out brawl. From the outside to the ramp to the stage to using the ambulance itself and its contents as weapons, I was in this the entire time.
Reigns got booed, as expected, but for those of you out there who are still upset about him getting placed into these big matches, just stop. He delivers time and time again and did so again on Sunday night. He took everything that was thrown at him, taking an absolute beating, but just kept coming back for more. Braun has solidified himself as a main-event player and got the biggest win of his career. Great brutality here and a really fun match to watch.
What’s next: The post-match drama leads to all kinds of scenarios. Braun, a la Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13, refused any help after being pried from the ambulance and will obviously be looking for revenge. I don’t know if WWE was specifically looking for the double turn here but that’s what it felt like. Roman just snapped after the loss and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what happens next. With the win, Strowman should be in line for the main event at SummerSlam but I’ll address that entire situation on the next page.
