DraftKings fantasy golf picks: John Deere Classic 2017
$9,000-$10,000
Steve Stricker ($9,800)
At 50 years old, Steve Stricker has been playing quite well this year. He’s missed only one cut in eight events played, and has performed solidly in his most recent outings. He’s registered three finishes of T16 or better in his last five tournaments with all finishes being tied-41st or better. He’s not spectacular, but he could be a solid play.
Charley Hoffman ($9,700)
Charley Hoffman has been the picture of veteran consistency this year on tour, and has reaped the benefits. His last two times out, he finished tied for third at the Travelers and in eighth at the U.S. Open. What’s more, he has just one missed cut in his last 10 tournaments and has five top-25 finishes over that span. He’s worth the price at the John Deere.
Kyle Stanley ($9,600)
This has been an exceptional 2017 for Kyle Stanley overall to this point. He’s missed only two cuts this year, but has really turned it on of late. All four of his top-10 finishes have come in his last 10 events, including a win the last time he played at the Quicken Loans. With only three finishes outside of the top 30 over that span as well, he’s as money as they come.
Jamie Lovemark ($9,300)
Despite inconsistent overall finishes, Jamie Lovemark has made his last 10 cuts. That’s impressive, and even more so when you consider he has a top-five, two top-10s, three top-20s and four top-30 finishes in his last five tournaments. He’s playing exceptionally well overall and could well be worth the price on DraftKings.
Ryan Moore ($9,200)
The recent play of Ryan Moore is absolutely nothing to get excited about. He’s been cut in two of his last four events and hasn’t finished in the top 50. Yet, he’s the defending champion at the John Deere Classic. With two top-10s earlier in the year as well, you have to wonder if this will help him take a major step forward in the 2017 PGA Tour season.
