Vintage Arm Rests

Arm rests are an underrated innovation in modern society. Without them, where would we put our arms during a movie, or a flight, or a movie on a flight? Chaos would ensue.

Like many under-appreciated innovations, armrests aren’t thought of unless they’re missed. Similar to toilet paper, paved roads and buttons, some innovations can only be appreciated once they’re gone. Imagine having to put your long, dangling arms into your lap and trying to enjoy a a road trip. Madness.

The armrest is mainly to be fought over. It also can be a source of conversation, whether in argument form or due to the vintage touch.

If you so choose, you can get vintage anything. Music, movies, accessories and clothing can all be vintage. Why not indulge in some vintage armrests as well? What you can imagine, you can buy. Ebay sellers are more than willing to sell you their vintage car arm rests. Some will even run you over $1,000. Whoever buys that, well, they probably have enough money for a vacation as well.

Some things are better vintage than new. Music and clothing in particular are the most popular vintage styles. I suspect new arm rests are better than aging, vintage ones, but I also don’t have $1,000 to spend to find out.

VAR is assuredly not vintage. The new technology hopefully will never become in style, let alone come back as vintage. That, in and of itself, is something to be thankful for.
