17. This Man Was 40

Mike Gundy has been a huge part of the success of the Oklahoma State Cowboys football program over the years. He was a highly successful starting quarterback for them in the late 1980s. It helped having future Pro Football Hall of Fame tailbacks like Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders to hand the ball off to. Gundy has also been the Cowboys head football coach since taking over for Les Miles in 2005.

While he has won over 100 games as Oklahoma State’s head coach, Gundy is best known for two things down in Stillwater: the deliciously bad power mullet of his and one of the best press conference moments in college football history, the “I’m a man. I’m 40″ rant.

All Gundy was trying to do was to defend the character of a former starting quarterback of his that was benched. A writer for The Oklahoman brought up some issues about former starting Pokes signal caller Bobby Reid after a win over Texas Tech in 2007. Gundy just went after the media with that amazing press conference tirade. It came out of nowhere, but was 100 percent amazing.

This movie will be centered around Gundy’s importance to the Oklahoma State football brand and how everything has changed since being a man who was 40 years old back in 2007. Of course, Oklahoma State University will release the movie 10 years to the day after the one-of-a-kind rant.

Oklahoma State should have one of the better teams in college football in 2017. This movie would obviously document how the power of mullets and standing up for a college kid’s character helped Gundy turn his alma mater into a near powerhouse program. This man was 40, but now he’s turning 50. Time flies when you’re winning a ton of football games in the Big 12.
