Paris Saint-Germain are well-known for splashing the cash on big names, and now they reportedly have their sights set on Barcelona star Neymar. The transfer clause put into the contract of Neymar is $255 million.

Reports Monday are coming out about the likelihood of Paris Saint-Germain and their willingness to pay the $255 million transfer clause for Barcelona superstar Neymar. Since arriving in Spain the 25-year-old forward has proven to be one of the most exciting attacking players on the planet.

Last season Neymar had 13 goals and 11 assists in 30 La Liga matches, all of which he started. While these numbers aren’t as good as those of Lionel Messi or Luis Suarez, being the main man elsewhere would surely see them rise to world class standards.

Since 2013 Neymar has scored 68 goals to go along with 38 assists in just 123 appearances in the league. Add this to the 21 goals and 15 assists in 40 matches in the Champions League and you understand why PSG are more than willing to trigger the $255 million transfer clause in Neymar’s contract.

Along with adding goals and assists at will, Neymar has won almost everything a footballer in Spain could. He won the La Liga title with Barcelona in both the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, along with winning the Copa del Rey in each of the last three seasons. On top of that he has won the Supercopa de Espana in 2013, the FIFA Club World Cup in 2015, and the 2014-15 Champions League title.

And throughout all of this he has been the main attacking player for his home country of Brazil. In 77 games for his national side he has scored 52 goals, proving that Neymar being the main point of attack is lethal. It’s because of his stellar play at the national level that Brazil won gold at the 2016 Olympics, won gold at the 2011 U-20 South American Championship, and also won the 2013 Confederations Cup.
