DraftKings fantasy golf picks: British Open 2017
$9,000-$10,000
Tommy Fleetwood ($9,800)
How do you not like what Tommy Fleetwood is selling right now. Not only is he a hometown guy who has a unique familiarity with Royal Birkdale, but he’s been playing exceptionally well as of late. After a fourth-place finish at the U.S. Open, he’s finished in the top-10 in three-straight events in Europe, including a win at the Open de France. He’s a great play here.
Henrik Stenson ($9,600)
The defending champion at the British Open, Henrik Stenson hasn’t registered a win since then. With that said, he’s had some strong play sporadically throughout the 2017 season. Though he has just 9-of-14 made cuts, he does have six top-10 finishes to his credit. If he strikes the ball well, he could be in contention to repeat at The Open Championship.
Hideki Matsuyama ($9,500)
After tying for second at the U.S. Open, Hideki Matsuyama has only played once, tying for 14th at the Irish Open two weeks ago. Matsuyama is widely regarded as one of the best ball-strikers in the world, and has largely put that on display throughout the 2017 season. With the conditions and course at the British Open, he could really do well.
Rickie Fowler ($9,200)
Still looking for his first major, there are few golfers in better recent form than Rickie Fowler. He’s finished in the top 10 in three of his last four tournaments, including three top-five finishes along the way. If he can show good control from the tee, he has the overall game right now to do some damage at Royal Birkdale.
