3. LeBron James – Ohio State Buckeyes

Sure, everybody knows that LeBron James is pretty good at basketball. In fact, outside of Michael Jordan, many believe James to be the best player in the history of the game. While he currently is consistently leading his Cleveland Cavaliers to NBA Finals, his love for everything Ohio does not stop on the hardwood.

A native of Akron, Ohio, James is an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. While he never attended college himself, you have to think he would have given the Buckeyes a long look after his time at St. Vincent/ St. Mary’s. Aside from being a standout basketball player, James could also have been a Division I football player, as he had incredible size and speed from his wide receiver position.

While football was not in the cards, the decision to play basketball was the right one, as he has led his teams to seven straight NBA Finals. All the while, he has been a huge supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes, donating clothes, shoes, and being a fixture on the sidelines during games. He is such a big fan that he won’t even say the word “Michigan,” and supports the team heavily on social media.

During the Buckeyes’ big matchup against the Michigan Wolverines last season, the team wore LeBron-inspired cleats. In addition, Nike actually sells a LeBron James Ohio State football jersey on its website. He is a Buckeye through and through, and actually has eligibility if he wants to play a little college football when his illustrious basketball career is over.
