Offense

Notable Losses: Up front,  the Cowboys will have to replace two starters on the offensive line in Victor Salako, and Michael Wilson. Salako was a second-team All-Big 12 selection, and Wilson started eight games at right guard. Oklahoma State will also have to replace running back Chris Carson, who led the team with nine rushing touchdowns a year ago.

QB: Mason Rudolph, senior

Mason Rudolph is the No. 1 senior quarterback in the country, and has played his way into being a possible first-round draft selection in the 2018 NFL Draft. The 2017 season has the potential to be a special one for Rudolph, as he has a plethora of weapons to throw to once again. The Oklahoma State offense is supposed to be one of the best in the country, and Rudolph could be in contention for a Heisman Trophy this season.

RB: Justice Hill, sophomore

RB: Jeff Carr, junior

During his first season, Justice Hill was remarkable, setting the school’s single-season rushing record for a freshman. Hill was not only named Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year, but all the AP’s Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. He will be expected to carry the load once again in 2017, but will also be spelled by a talented backup in Jeff Car, who could see triple-digit carries as well.

WR: James Washington, senior

WR: Marcell Ateman, senior (RS)

WR: Jalen McCleskey, junior, sophomore (RS)

To say the wide receiving group at Oklahoma State is great would be an understatement, as they could be the most talented crop in all of college football. Jalen McCleskey actually led the team in receptions last season, though James Washington got most of the publicity. Marcell Ateman was injured for all of last season, but returns for his senior season, and should be a very productive option. Look also for Tyron Johnson, who we will discuss later in the piece.

LT: Aaron Cochran, senior (transfer)

LG: Marcus Keyes, sophomore (RS)

C: Brad Lundblade, senior

RG: Larry Williams, senior (RS, transfer)

RT: Zachary Crabtree, senior (RS)

The Cowboys have a strong offensive line, as they will start four seniors up front. With arguably the best three-headed monster in the Big 12, this offense is going to put up incredible numbers, and it will all start with the five starters listed above. Marcus Keyes, Brad Lundblade, and Zachary Crabtree started every game for the Cowboys last season, but replacing second-team All-Big 12 selection, Victor Salako, will be a tall order.

AP: Tyron Johnson, sophomore (RS, transfer)

With all the big name players returning in 2017, it is a transfer that could turn some heads during the season. Tyron Johnson is a former five-star recruit out of New Orleans, and will play out his senior season with the Cowboys. He will return kicks for the Cowboys, be involved in the passing game, and gives Rudolph another solid weapon to exploit defenses with.
