EA drops teaser for Madden 18, the newest edition to the Madden franchise.

EA Sports gave fans an exclusive look at game footage of Madden 18 on Friday. The  dropped an official gameplay teaser on Twitter.

The teaser includes in-game footage, along with brief descriptions of new additions to the regular gameplay. By and large, Madden has undergone a seemingly complete overhaul since the release of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Most notably undergoing a transition to the Frostbite engine, as most EA games have done.

Above all, Madden 18 will feature an array of gameplay and graphic upgrades, making the game feel more real. In fact, new target passing will assist the system in making throws more accurate and precise. Blocking and tackling mechanics will receive updates, along with wide receiver and defensive back movements. In addition to new mechanics, Madden announced three new play styles: arcade, simulation and competitive. Although not touched on in the teaser, the stadiums and fan experience has received an upgrade as well as EA attempts to create a more realistic experience.

Among the features not depicted in the teaser is Madden’s new Longshot mode. Longshot is one of the most anticipated features of the new game. Longshot will be similar to FIFA’s unique story mode, The Journey, in that it will follow a single character and allow users to make decisions, changing the eventual outcome of the story. However, in Longshot, users will not play a single down of football in the NFL.
