3. Rose will be a defensive liability against Golden State

What’s the one weakness of the Cleveland Cavaliers that the Golden State Warriors continue to exploit? The fact that Cleveland continues to employ one-sided players while the Warriors have players that are solid on both ends of the floor.

Derrick Rose continues to add to that problem. Even if the former MVP can be effective on the offensive end, the Warriors know that his defensive game is still a problem.

In a potential Finals quad-match with the Warriors, Rose could get exploited by the likes of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. This could prove to be a huge problem for the Cavaliers, especially if they choose to play Rose in key minutes.

Not saying that Matthew Dellevadova was the reason the Cavaliers won in 2016, but his defensive energy off the bench was key in certain stretches of the series. It would have been much better for Cleveland to sign a defensive-minded guard rather than one that  plays the opposite end of the floor.

It just continues to build the notion that this signing by Cleveland isn’t necessarily a great idea and might come back to haunt them when it matters most.
