5 reasons Les Miles should take the Ole Miss job
1. Money Talks
Apart from being well compensated while he was coaching at LSU, Miles also got up to a reported $12.9 million buyout from the school after being fired. So he does not need to coach for a significant salary, most likely anyway, and he’s sure to be pretty well-paid doing television for a season based on his name alone.
That said, Ole Miss will surely be ready to again make Miles one of the highest-paid coaches in college football. It would be awfully hard to turn down a multi-year offer for the kind of money that would be, even if he is secure financially. Add in the aforementioned itch to coach Miles definitely still has, and the reduced expectations of the job, and Ole Miss has to make an “offer he can’t refuse” with great confidence they can get their man.

What’s better than a lot of money in the bank? More money, of course. Miles can probably name his price to a few schools when he is line to take a new job. A hint of desperation to land a credible big name should give Miles plenty of leverage in any negotiations with Ole Miss, and they may ultimately have to bend to his agent’s will.
