Corey Kluber was in Cy Young form once again Sunday, striking out 14 hitters in 7.2 innings to beat the Blue Jays 8-1 and finish off a three-game sweep of the Blue Jays. Kluber allowed one run on five hits (a solo home run) and two walks.
However, Kluber’s strong start wasn’t the best of the week for the Tribe. Danny Salazar tossed seven shutout innings Saturday in his first start since returning from the disabled list. Salazar allowed just one hit against the Blue Jays, and did not surrender a walk. Unfortunately, Cleveland couldn’t hold a 1-0 lead in the eighth inning, costing Salazar the win, but the Indians would claim victory after a Francisco Lindor walk-off homer in the 10th inning.
