Like the Astros, the Washington Nationals have used an explosive offense to build a seemingly insurmountable division lead. There’s a new star every week for the Nats, and Bryce Harper took the lead with 10 hits, seven runs scored, three home runs and six RBI last week.

Max Scherzer had an uncharacteristically bad start last week, but Washington got good work from starters Stephen Strasburg (though he left Sunday’s start early with an apparent injury), Edwin Jackson and Tanner Roark. The newcomers in the bullpen were also solid. Ryan Madson tossed three scoreless innings and Sean Doolittle picked up two saves in two opportunities.
