Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match to determine the No. 1 contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship

Tamina vs. Natalya vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Lana vs. Becky Lynch

What we learned: The biggest thing we learned here is that Natalya will be heading to SummerSlam to take on Naomi for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. However, we also learned that the blue brand is having all sorts of trouble booking these women in one-on-one feuds.

It was only a few months ago that the SmackDown Live women’s division was in great shape. At one point, there were three solid one-on-one programs happening and it seemed like they could continue that momentum. Now we’re just getting all of these multi-woman matches and they’re just not entertaining or fun anymore. I will admit to enjoying a few of the spots in this match but for the most part, it was once again pretty average.

It’s also hard to get into the quick eliminations. This entire match was just short of 11 minutes long and you’re telling me that it’s that simple to eliminate four people in that span. That doesn’t say much for the competitors, does it? But let’s give Cena and Rusev more than 20 minutes for a Flag Match. Good call, WWE creative. I do like Natalya finally getting a big win but the match could have been so much better.

What’s next: Obviously, what’s next for Natalya is a shot at Naomi’s glowing title that almost makes the old spinner belt look good. Hey, let’s have a women’s revolution and make them equal to the guys but let’s be sure to put flashing lights on one of the belts. Yes, I understand that’s what Naomi’s gimmick is but it looks ridiculous.

I think Natalya deserves a win at SummerSlam for her years of service but it wouldn’t shock me if she does get it and then gets taken out by Carmella with her briefcase. That’s right, I would not put it past WWE creative at this point to do two cash-ins in one night.
