5 worst landing spots for Kyrie Irving
1. New York Knicks
This trade request from Cleveland to potentially the New York Knicks makes sense for only one reason. Kyrie Irving grew up in New York and wants to return home to play in the Mecca of basketball — Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks will likely have to part ways with Carmelo Anthony soon and would realistically only have Kristaps Porzingis as a star on the squad. They don’t have very good rotational players and an extremely unstable front office situation.
New York has become a laughingstock from a basketball standpoint, exactly what Irving doesn’t need at this point of his career. One of the main reasons that Irving wanted out of Cleveland was the instability in the front office and management. That’s exactly what the Cavaliers’ superstar would be running to in New York with James Dolan. It would be a downgrade in talent as well.
