The summer transfer window is upon us and every team’s fans are dreaming of a big signing.

The Neymar saga has continued this week, as one of the dumbest rumors of the summer so far continues to grow (HOW much money??). Most clubs are well into their preseason now, with a lot of the players being named in gossip having already suited up for their current teams.

Every week, FanSided will round up some of the most pie-in-the-sky gossip. Will it be Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Celtic? Paul Pogba back to Juventus? Ronaldinho out of retirement to play in MLS?

Here are the four dumbest transfer rumors of the week.

1. Emil Forsberg to Manchester United

Leipzig are already going through enough strife with Naby Keita. It’s hard to believe they’re particularly interested in going through it all again. It may well be that there are legitimate discussions about a move to Old Trafford for Forsberg, but it’s still dumb.

For one, it makes no sense that Leipzig would accept €50 million for Forsberg when they’ve rejected higher bids from Liverpool for an arguably less talented player in Keita. Again, even if it’s true that Leipzig are considering it, the rumor is still dumb. If United get Forsberg for that much, then either the German club are evaluating their own players poorly, or Liverpool can’t negotiate.

Regardless, this isn’t being discussed much in reliable papers. Forsberg would be great at United, but surely Leipzig wouldn’t let him go so easily after this fight over Keita, right?
