2. New York Giants

The New York Giants are a part of two of the craziest Super Bowls in NFL history, and both came with some lucky bounces in their way in some eerily similar runs.

For the Giants, their first title obviously came after one of the greatest, craziest and luckiest catches in NFL history, when David Tyree caught the ball almost attached to his helmet. The sequence came after Eli Manning’s impressive escape from pressure in the pocket, which all couldn’t happen again if you put the two teams in the same positions and tried it 100 more times.

On that run, they took advantage of a horrible throw from Brett Favre in the NFC Championship game, giving the Giants a key interception to set up a game-winning field goal.

The same type of luck occurred on their run in 2011, when a fumbled punt in the NFC Championship against the San Francisco 49ers sent them to another Super Bowl against the Patriots on a wave of momentum based on a mistake.

Then, in Super Bowl XLVI, an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime catch by Mario Manningham helped send the Giants to another victory over New England late in the fourth quarter, giving them yet another title.

Mistakes and incredibly low chance plays were pivotal for the Giants on both runs, after respective 10-6 and 9-7 regular seasons on their run that gave them low seeds in the playoffs. Had it not been for some luck, we may not even be talking about the Giants as a threat at all in the 2000’s and 2010’s.
