Chicago Bears: Mike Glennon, Mark Sanchez, Mitchell Trubisky

Sure, the Chicago Bears stand the chance of probably being the worst team in the NFC, but at least they’ll have one of the more compelling quarterback competitions in fall camp. Chicago has two guys with NFL starting experience and a player they traded up to No. 2 to take in the 2017 NFL Draft. In short, it’s Mike Glennon vs. Mark Sanchez vs. Mitchell Trubisky, oh my!

Glennon has the best shot at starting for the Bears out of camp. He was paid handsomely by Bears general manager Ryan Pace during NFL free agency. Glennon started as a rookie in 2013 for the atrocious Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He platooned with Josh McCown in 2014 and lost the starting job in Tampa Bay to Jameis Winston in 2015. Glennon has the build and the arm strength to be a low-end franchise quarterback, but we’ll see.

Sanchez is totally the wild card in this. Wasn’t he supposed to win the 2016 Denver Broncos starting job over Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian? Instead, he was cut and spent 2016 backing up Tony Romo’s original backup in Dak Prescott with the 2016 Dallas Cowboys. Sanchez at one point was a No. 5 pick out of USC by the New York Jets, leading them to back-to-back AFC Championship Games. Boy, who things have changed for Sanchez since The Butt Fumble.

Finally, we give you Mr. Camry Mitchell Trubisky. He has put pen to paper and will be the Bears franchise quarterback of the future, we think. Trubisky shined in his one year as a starting quarterback for the North Carolina Tar Heels in college. He could win the job out of camp, but that might indicate Chicago truly punting the season before it even begins. For now, we’d have to expect Glennon gets the starting gig Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons.
