3. Rock solid-bullpen

Now that the potential opposition has been vetted, let’s look at the Bronx Bombers themselves and see what are the strengths with this potential World Series contender. Since the Kansas City Royals reached the 2014 World Series, having a rock-solid bullpen is huge to contending for championships.

The Yankees can definitely say that they roll deep in their bullpen. Frankly, it’s gearing up to be a lights-out sort of experience in dealing with the Yankees down the stretch. Dellin Betances is one of the best set-up men in the game today. The Yankees reacquired fireballer Aroldis Chapman this season after he helped the Cubs win the 2016 World Series.

It was so huge for the Yankees to bring back former closer David Robertson in that blockbuster trade with the White Sox. Keep in mind that Robertson was at one time the heir apparent to The Sandman himself Mariano Rivera. Robertson would shockingly leave New York to play for a bad White Sox team the last three years. Now he’s back.

Though it may be viewed as a throw-in in the deal for Todd Frazier and Robertson, Tommy Kahnle had himself a fine year with the White Sox before coming aboard in pinstripes. There are others arms in the Yankees bullpen, but their big names stack up with just about anybody’s. New York doesn’t have a leaky bullpen and that’s huge in team’s quest to win a World Series.
