Sergio Aguero

While Aguero hasn’t been linked with a move to Arsenal, it’s still a possibility. Sanchez is looking to play Champions League soccer and Manchester City could give him just that. A swap deal could be a win-win for both clubs involved here.

The reason that Aguero makes this list is due to two things. First, Sanchez wants Champions League soccer. Second, there seemed to be a bit of disconnect between Aguero and Pep Guardiola last season. And with Gabriel Jesus looking to be the next name in line at City, Aguero might be looking to move elsewhere.

While Aguero has spent a vast majority of his time at striker for City, he has proven on multiple occasions that he can play alongside another forward, or possibly even drop a bit deeper and still be effective. Putting Aguero together with someone of the quality of Lacazette could very well be the attacking tandem that Arsenal need to push for the top four in 2017-18.

And when comparing Aguero to Sanchez last season, this is a favorable comparison. Aguero made 31 appearances in the Premier League, six from the bench. In those 31 matches he scored 20 goals, had three assists, 4.5 shots per 90, 1.0 key passes per 90, 2.5 key passes per 90 and was fouled 1.1 times per 90.

While it should be taken into account that Aguero isn’t a direct replacement for Sanchez as an attacking midfielder, the amount of attention he demands from other teams would free up space for those behind him.

This deal would be a blockbuster swap, and if all parties agree could be a viable option for both City and Arsenal to strengthen their squads significantly.
