Ivan Perisic

While Perisic has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, he’s a replacement for Sanchez Arsenal should consider. Perisic was one of the most effective attacking midfielders in Serie A last season, and there is little doubt he could transfer that effectiveness to the Premier League.

While you wouldn’t be getting the youth of Mbappe or Dembele, or maybe even the star power of Aguero or Mahrez, Perisic could arguably be the best fit for a replacement. If Sanchez does depart, Arsenal are going to be in need of another creative attacking force, one that can both score and create goals. Perisic fits the billing on both accounts.

Last season, Perisic had 11 goals in 36 Serie A appearances, with five of them off the bench. His eight assists and 11 goals were both good for second on Inter. He only trailed Mauro Icardi in goals (24) and Antonio Candreva in assists (10). Both respectable names to be sitting behind in the respective stat columns.

Perisic also had 2.9 shots per 90, 1.7 key passes per 90, 1.1 completed dribbles per 90 and was only dispossessed 1.1 times per 90. These numbers point to his effectiveness as a creative force in the attack. Along with his attacking efficiency he has proven to have a willingness to help out defensively, which is something Wenger could truly appreciate.
