8. Kris Bryant

Fresh off an MVP and helping the Chicago Cubs break a 108-year World Series drought, Kris Bryant’s stock has never been higher than it is now. Like the Cubbies, Bryant hasn’t been his true self this season. His slash line is .274/.388/.511, while his WAR has dropped from 7.7 to 3.7. While that’s still very good, it’s not up to his usual standards.

Still, it’s no coincidence that as soon as Bryant came into the league, he changed the culture of the Cubs. In 2015, he won Rookie of the Year and brought the Cubs back to the playoffs for the first time in seven years. They also made it to the NLCS for the first time since the infamous Steve Bartman incident. The year after that, well, you know what happened.

While Bryant’s production has taken a dip, he’s still regarded as a franchise cornerstone and one of the best third basemen in the game. Even as the Cubs have geared themselves up for an end-of-season run following a busy trade deadline, Bryant is their most important player and will be counted on to lead their charge back into the playoffs.

Anyone who can say they helped win the Cubs a World Series is going to be in high demand. And thanks to his MVP, Bryant is also a player who’s easily marketable. He’s a bright young star and a versatile baseball player, which is a rare find these days. His transfer fee will only get boosted by the fact that he’s just entering his prime as well as the quick turnaround the Cubs underwent as soon as he started playing.

Potential transfer fee: $150 million
