High Value Guard

Courtney Williams – Connecticut Sun ($4,700) We have a good, cost-efficient stacking option available here by way of Alex Bentley and Courtney Williams. Like Bentley, Williams will also seen an increased role in the absence of Jasmine Thomas. Let’s face it, the money-making opportunities usually always lie in the hands of the high-priced forwards like Breanna Stewart, Sylvia Fowles, etc. We need to find value in order to roster the big names on Tuesday night. Williams routinely sees at least 20 minutes per game and it is not out of the question for her to see at least 20-25 fantasy points.

Jazmon Gwathmey – Indiana Fever ($3,700) Jazmon Gwathmey has slowly emerged as a legit value option. You will notice that I shy away from anyone that plays in the backcourts of New York and Indiana because I, along with many others, have been burned time and time again so I REFUSE to get caught up in it anymore!  It seems that if you play Briann January, Tiffany Mitchell goes off. If you play Mitchell, Erica Wheeler plays phenomenal. Same can be said with the jumbled mess in New York that is Sugar Rodgers, Shavonte Zellous, Bria Hartley and Epiphanny Prince. I refuse to play roulette with these players. However, at only $3,700 you really can’t lose even if she doesn’t produce. Over the last three contests, Gwathmey is averaging nearly 24 fantasy points. Not a bad mark especially at that price. Don’t be a victim, play it safe and just roll with Gwathmey.

Shekinna Stricklen – Connecticut Sun ($3,200) Ok, so here is the scenario. You really want to have both Breanna Stewart and Sylvia Fowles in your lineup. You just can’t make a decision and are left with not a lot of room to spare. If you are in a pinch and need to go really, really low, keep Shekinna Stricklen in your back pocket. After Jasmine Thomas exited early against Phoenix, Stricklen produced 11 points over 28 minutes. Not great, but good enough if you are really hurting for cash.
