Usain Bolt’s final race of his career did not end the way he would have liked and Twitter went into an absolute frenzy

There is no question in the minds of everyone that Jamaica’s Usain Bolt is one of the greatest track and field athletes to ever grace a stadium and he is certainly the greatest sprinter that the world has ever seen. He has all the medals to prove it and he has wowed us for years with his amazing ability when it comes to the sport of running. Saturday at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships, Bolt was ready to put his illustrious career to an end as he would anchor the Men’s 4x`100, so the stage was set for Bolt to go out like a hero.

Unfortunately, sports can be cruel sometimes, and they certainly were to Bolt on Saturday as he was looking for his storybook ending.

As he was coming down the stretch, presumably ready to turn those jets on that we’re all accustomed to, Bolt pulled up lame, immediately grabbing his hamstring. From there, there was no chance Bolt was getting that ending he was looking for and you could hear everyone’s heart break simultaneously.

Of course, the Twitter world reacted as well.

There are many more of these tweets and they will no doubt continue to pour in as the night goes on. It really is a testament to just how much of an impact Usain Bolt made on people with what he was able to do in his career, and he was especially beloved by the people of Jamaica. For the better part of the past decade, he’s been a national hero with his accomplishments on the track.

Now, though, with this finish, there will be one question on everyone’s mind. That being: Was this truly the end of his career?
