The Nationals won back-to-back home series against the Marlins and Giants, respectively, but lost MVP candidate Bryce Harper in the process.
Harper suffered a knee injury when he slipped on a wet first base bag Saturday night in a 4-2 loss to the Giants. Though the injury appeared worse at first, an MRI showed no ligament damage and Washington sent Harper to the DL with a bone bruise. He’s likely to miss at least two weeks of action but should be back in plenty of time for the postseason.
