Manchester City and Everton face off Monday at the Etihad in each side’s second Premier League game. Manchester City beat newly -romoted Brighton 2-0 and Everton beat Stoke City 1-0 to each start off the season with a win.

Everton welcomed Wayne Rooney back in their 1-0 win. He scored Everton’s only goal and looked great as a part of Everton’s attack. New signing Gylfi Sigurdsson could make his debut this week against the Citizens. Sigurdsson and Rooney add an aspect to Everton’s offense throughout the season that highlights creativity and ball movement, something that the team lacked with Romelu Lukaku.

Manchester City took a bit to get going against Brighton, but with newly added fullbacks Kyle Walker and Danilo making their debuts, their attack took time to develop. Fortunately, the talent City have in their attack makes up for the newly signed pieces taking time to fit in. The depth City have in attacking midfield provides Pep Guardiola an embarrassment of riches. Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane, David Silva and Raheem Sterling are all fighting for two spots for the most part. That provides City with an incredible boost off the bench in the second half.
