Missouri – Drew Lock

Every single year there’s a quarterback that comes out of the woodwork and shoots up draft boards. A year ago it was Mitchell Trubisky that suddenly transformed into a first-round pick. This year it could be Drew Lock who emerges as a star. He has a chance to follow in the footsteps of Blaine Gabbert who most people forget was a productive collegiate player. Gabbert never made it but Lock definitely has the tools to possibly put it all together.

Drew Lock is better than people realize. The numbers might be shocking to some people after Lock threw for 3,399 yards, 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. If those turnovers can be mitigated, Lock could be in for a mega season. Then again, Barry Odom loves to air it out. In a draft class packed with quarterbacks, it will be fun to see if Lock can establish himself in that next tier behind Darnold, Rosen and Allen. Lock who also is a former basketball player moves awfully well as a mobile pocket passer.

Missouri quietly has some weapons around him. J’Mon Moore was terrific a season ago reeling in over 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns. Dimetrios Mason was also productive in his freshman season. Nevertheless, the 6-foot-4 signal caller has the tools to make an impact in 2017. For whatever reason, Lock seems to be a guy that’s just being overlooked.
