2. Brooklyn Nets

Since getting fleeced by Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics a few seasons ago, the Brooklyn Nets haven’t been the same. They may have Jay-Z and Beyonce still attending some of their games, but it’s probably hard for the average fan to muster much enthusiasm for the current on-court product.

There was a lone season when the Nets had Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and some other aging veterans for a final run. That didn’t pan out, as LeBron James and the Miami Heat were always in their way. Those players retired and the Nets didn’t have the draft picks to rebuild their roster the proper way. They still won’t in the future and don’t have very many pieces to build around.

Due to the large amount of salary cap space they possess, the Nets were able to take on some bad contracts and good players. They added D’Angelo Russell at the expense of Timofey Mozgov. They also traded for DeMarre Carroll and Allen Crabbe.

Still no franchise player and none walking through the Brooklyn Bridge any time soon. Sorry Nets’ fans, enjoy your new Arena, that’s about all you have now.
