4. Dwyane Wade, 84 Overall

This hurts to write, but an 84 overall for D-Wade at this point in his career feels like a legacy rating. That’s understandable, but it doesn’t make him any less overrated; Wade isn’t the Flash anymore and he hasn’t been for the past three or four years.

In his Chicago homecoming campaign, Wade did not have a particularly productive season for the wacky 2017 Bulls. Although he did contribute to the locker room turmoil that plagued Chicago throughout the year (dock his team chemistry rating!). That retrospectively makes Miami’s decision to part ways with him in the summer of 2016 seem like a good choice.

While Wade started off hot from 3-point range last season, he cooled substantially as the season wore on. Wade’s lack of reliable long range shooting minimizes his off-ball impact, often making his team easier to guard when he’s on the floor. He’s also not the mid-range killer or finisher at the rim that he used to be. Wade’s scoring efficiency dipped last season, which his career low True Shooting Percentage reflects (per Basketball-Reference). That’s an ominous sign moving forward; Wade will turn 36 in January and the twilight of his career is quickly approaching.

Last season Wade performed at the level of a solid starter and rightly missed the All-Star Game. If we are basing ratings on last year’s performance, then Wade should be closer to an 80.
