Philadelphia Eagles: Donovan McNabb

The Philadelphia Eagles haven’t had much luck with quarterbacks recently, as they’ve dealt with Carson Wentz and Mark Sanchez over the last few seasons. However, they were blessed with some talent at the position for much of the last 15 years, with both Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick making the team a fun one to pick if you were playing Madden.

Vick will go down as one of the best Madden players of all time, but as far as the Eagles are concerned, not many people could possibly beat McNabb when it comes to the team’s best Madden player in franchise history. While Vick was in the running to be on the cover during his time with the team, McNabb actually scored a spot on the cover for Madden NFL 2006.

McNabb was a solid dual-threat quarterback during his run with the Eagles, but was especially great in the version of the game where you saw his face on the front. He earned a 97 rating for the game, and was one of the best quarterbacks out there if you were looking for a combination of speed and impressive arm strength.

The Eagles quarterback may have gotten the benefit of a boost to his ratings because of the team’s Super Bowl appearance in the previous February, and he fell victim to the Madden curse later that season as well with an ACL injury, but it doesn’t take away from how great he was to have on your team in the game.

If you found yourself up against a guy like Vick on the opposing team, it was nice to have McNabb to counter things on your end of the equation.
