Cleveland Browns: Peyton Hillis

There’s obviously not a lot to pick from when it comes to this fruit tree known as the Cleveland Browns, and you could say most of the fruit on the branches has been pretty rotten from the start. However, they do have a Madden cover athlete to be (sort of) proud of, and his name is Peyton Hillis.

Back when the cover started getting decided by a fan vote, which has stopped recently, Hillis caught a ton of momentum from fans looking to get the Browns star running back on the main stage after a solid year for the team. Hillis eventually beat out Michael Vick, who was looking to be on his second Madden cover, for the front of Madden NFL 12 after his 1,000-yard season for the Browns.

He eventually fell off completely, but he did have that one year of glory in the Madden history books. Hillis received a nice little bump to his overall rating, mainly due to him being on the front of the game, earning a 91 overall rating to give Browns fans a beast to work with in the game for the first time in a long time.

The Browns stud had 99 toughness and 99 trucking ratings in the game, meaning you could probably crush anyone that tried to tackle you if you for some reason decided to play with the Browns. Hillis couldn’t quite match his success from the year before in his cover year, but the team still had one year in the spotlight despite its lackluster roster.
