25. Michael Vick in MLB

Michael Vick is one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks of all time, and that’s even with a good chunk of the prime of his career taken away due to his dogfighting scandal. He was one of the fastest to ever play the game and had an incredible arm to go with his agility and athleticism, and he likely could’ve used that same description to succeed in another sport.

Vick didn’t have the greatest arm toward the later part of his career, but plenty of fans love to think about how some would deal with the transition from under center to the mound. Some football players, like Russell Wilson or Jameis Winston, have plenty of baseball experience and the comparisons are justified. However, with Vick, he stopped playing baseball in the eighth grade, and committed to football full-time very early.

Even with the lack of experience, the Colorado Rockies still saw potential in a baseball career for Vick, and they drafted him in the 30th round of the 2000 MLB Draft. He never pursued that option, given how successful his NFL career was, but there’s always going to be a big “what if?” on that piece of Vick’s life story.

Now, with his football career transitioning from a role on a team as a player to now a coaching assistant, maybe Vick should pursue the baseball option. Although it’s been 17 years since he was drafted, he could pull a Tim Tebow and dive into a minor league team lineup, and it’d definitely be a fun sight to see.
