MIAMI GARDENS, FL – OCTOBER 16: DeAngelo Williams /

22. DeAngelo Williams in professional wrestling

This has already happened, and was even more in-depth and more extreme than Rob Gronkowski’s experience was in a WWE ring, but we want to try to expand on DeAngelo Williams’ run in a wrestling ring, and possibly give him a little redemption along the way.

Williams made an appearance in a wrestling ring a few months ago as a part of Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary XV, and he actually put on a solid show when he stepped into the ring for action. He had a solid ring presence, knew what he was doing for the most part and was a big enough name in the NFL world to recognize.

Unfortunately, Williams quickly retired from the wrestling world after, which doesn’t surprise anyone after he almost broke his neck and/or back when trying to dive through a table to end the match. That’s where we want to make this right.

Williams put it all on the line for a small promotion in front of a relatively small audience. Now, although he is retired at the moment, he’s still a free agent in the NFL. He obviously would want to return to football if the opportunity arose, but we would like to see him step into a WWE ring before he does that and make things right.

Much like Daniel Tosh’s Web Redemption segment on Tosh.O, Williams should get in front of a bigger audience in WWE and do his thing, and maybe actually go through the table this time. It’d be a nice draw for WWE, would make up for Williams’ last performance and would make money for both parties. Who says no?
