NFL power rankings: Who is biggest threat to Patriots?
By Brad Weiss
Heading into the 2017 season, the Tennessee Titans are one of the more exciting teams to watch. Quarterback Marcus Mariota proved that you do not have to play in an NFL offense to be a starting QB in the NFL, and has gotten better in each of his first two seasons. An injury ended his 2016 campaign, but he looks healthy this Summer, and should lead the Titans to the playoffs.
At running back, the Titans have a nice two-headed monster in DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry, giving them quite the advantage at the position. This offseason, the team brought in veteran wide receiver Eric Decker from the New York Jets, while drafting Western Michigan star wideout Corey Davis in the first round. Mariota is going to have plenty of weapons to turn to this season, and he should be in for his best season yet.
There are talented players on both sides of the ball, and one player to keep an eye on is Adoree Jackson. Jackson was a do-everything player for the USC Trojans, and is as good a return man as he is a cornerback. He is going to bring something special to the game every week, and is definitely someone who is going to make his presence felt on gameday.
The AFC South is going to be an interesting division this season, as the Titans, Indianapolis Colts, and Houston Texans should vie for supremacy. Mariota may be the difference between the three teams, as he has the talent to be an elite player in the league. This team is going to put up points, and with an improved defense, this could be the year they win the AFC South crown.
