The Verizon IndyCar Series returns to Gateway for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500. Here’s how you can watch IndyCar from Gateway live, on TV and online.

Saturday night is race night for the Verizon IndyCar Series, as IndyCar comes back to Gateway Motorsports Park for the first time in over a decade with the Bommarito Automotive Group 500.

IndyCar hasn’t competed in the St. Louis area since 2003. But the last time this race was held, it was Helio Castroneves who crossed the line first, and Castroneves is currently sitting third in the IndyCar championship standings in what’s rumored to be his final season. He has precedent for a Bommarito Automotive Group 500, and winning it would be huge for not just the 2017 IndyCar season but his entire career.

Yet standing in Helio’s way are a number of other people who all have their sites on making new history at Gateway, including his Team Penske colleague Josef Newgarden, who’s in position to be the first American champion since Ryan Hunter-Reay. This is an important showdown as IndyCar comes back to a fan favorite venue, but also with just three races left on the calendar, every result matters. Who will say they were first in the first race back at Gateway? And who’ll be left wishing they could rewrite history?
