3. Meyers Leonard, Portland Trailblazers + Bella & Koko

Meyers and wife Elle adopted Bella, a husky pup, back in 2013. She’s been an integral part of their lives ever since. In fact, Bella was even in the Leonard’s wedding in 2015, thanks, in part, to Twitter. Meyers and Elle wagered retweets on the social media platform – 3,000 to be exact – which took less than 90 minutes. And Bella stole the show during the big day with her enthusiasm, happy demeanor and shining smile.

The husky pup gave us all a scare in March when she was reportedly diagnosed with kidney failure. Fans flooded Meyers’ timeline with well wishes and love for Bella, who began to put together her very own bucket list.

But, Bella’s a fighter, and with Meyers by her side, she’s recovered well. She even returned the favor, when the Blazers big man had surgery on his shoulder this past spring – staying close by as the recovery process began.

Bella’s no stranger to the lifestyle of a basketball player. She’s made appearances at press conferences, hung out at her dad’s basketball camp and holds down the Portland locker room. She accustomed to the normalities of life, too, like having to take trips to Home Depot with her pops. And becoming a big sister. Yes, the Leonard family recently added to the crew another husky pup, Koko. Gotta say, the Leonards are a good lookin’ family and we’re sure they’re celebrating National Dog Day in style.
