College Football Week 1: NFL Draft big board – Quarterbacks rule
Ever since he entered the scene as a freshman, Christian Kirk has always been about the explosive plays. He has incredible speed and is going to be a major player at the pro level in the return game as well.
Where he lines up at the pro level will certainly be interesting, but he has all the tools to be great. He has speed, hands and the ability to change the game in one play. What he lacks in height, he makes up with almost everything else.
In 13 games he had 83 receptions for 928 yards. He also had nine touchdowns to go with all of those yards. The fact he was a receptions machine shows that he’s much more than just a guy with speed.
He only had six returns on the year, but was dynamic when he did. He amassed close to 30 yards per attempt on his returns. He’s certainly going to be asked to do that at the next level when he gets there.
If this past year’s draft was any indication, speed will certainly translate to being drafted high. So long as he keeps making the big plays and remains the reliable target for Texas A&M, Kirk will be near the top of plenty of boards.
