College Football Week 1: NFL Draft big board – Quarterbacks rule
In the class of the quarterback, Josh Allen has soared to the top and made a name for himself with the Wyoming Cowboys. At 6’5″ and 230 pounds, Allen has the size and the arm strength that coaches fall in love with right away.
As with anyone with a cannon, accuracy questions will come into question but Allen has the work ethic and has shown signs of major improvement throughout his career. He wouldn’t be in this position if he hadn’t.
In 2016, he finished with 3203 yards and a 56 percent completion percentage. He took some chances and that led to 15 interceptions, but he also had 28 touchdown passes in return. However, that’s the fearless style of football that Allen brings as well.
What might make some close their eyes and others left in awe, Allen isn’t afraid to take risks with the football either. A quarterback has to be smart with the football when making decisions, but they also can’t have any fear either. The arm strength and bravado he plays with will make him one of the most watched.
One should expect the touchdown and yards numbers to go up. If he can raise that completion percentage even more, then it’s only going to continue to work in his favor. The interceptions will happen because he takes chances, but if he becomes a little more calculated it will make him all that much better.
