J.J. Redick
SG Duke

J.J. Redick had a phenomenal career at Duke, and he showed the nation that he was one of the best 3-point shooters in the history of the game. It may seem a bit far fetched to have a player go this high in a draft when all he is really known for is to score the ball, but it just shows how good Redick was at his specialty. He nailed 457 3-pointers over the course of his four year career with the Blue Devils, and made them at a 40 percent clip. He was also one of the best free throw shooters in college when he played, hitting over 91 percent from the charity stripe. Redick’s senior season surely set him apart from the pack, when he averaged 26.8 points, and made 3.9 3-pointers per game. Although he wasn’t quite known for blowing by defenders with the ball in his hand, Redick was known for his movement without the ball.

Redick always put himself in position to be able to catch and shoot high percentage field goals, which in turn allowed him to score so many points. His shooting certainly makes him stand out and would be a great addition to any team in today’s NBA. Some concerns that come with Redick are he is a bit undersized for the shooting guard position, and he is not as athletically gifted as most of the players at his position are. Redick would still figure to be a very effective player, and could be a match made in heaven if he is paired next to the right point guard.
