Mike Gminski
C Duke

The towering Mike Gminksi is easily one of the best players to ever put on the prestigious Duke Blue Devils jersey. Gminski owned averages of 19 points, 10.2 rebounds per game and contributed his fair share of blocked shots during his career with Duke. Standing at 6-foot-11, it’s no surprise that he was such a dominant force on both ends of the floor. Perhaps the most surprising feature of his game is how well he shoots from the free throw line. He was a career 79 percent shooter from there, which would help him tremendously in today’s NBA. Gminski ranks in the top 10 in both career points and rebounds in the ACC, which is truly a testament to how consistent he was in college, and surely seems like it could be carried over to the next level.

Gminski had a few solid moves when he had his back to the basket, and on occasion could help create shots for his teammates and lead them to the basket. His biggest hinderance is his athletic ability. With freakishly athletic big men such as Anthony Davis, and Karl-Anthony Towns patrolling the paint these days, Gminski could have trouble keeping up with them on both ends of the floor. Now that’s not to say he is not athletic at all, but it is hard to imagine he can continuously keep up with the pace of todays game. He is still a very skilled player for his size, and would be a nice addition to any team’s rotation.
