Alabama vs. FSU: 5 x-factors for the Crimson Tide to beat the Seminoles

4. We’re not in the Georgia Dome anymore
When your team wins the SEC Championship as often as Nick Saban’s do, you grow fond of playing in Atlanta in early December. All 14 SEC teams are trying their best to get to Atlanta, win and hopefully reach the College Football Playoff.
While Saban has won a ridiculous seven SEC Championships in his two stops between LSU and Alabama, he did them all in a stadium that is about to be demolished. That’s right. All the best neutral site games will be played next door at the brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Georgia Dome was nice, but this new venue is the crown jewel of the southeast.
Basically, the Crimson Tide players don’t need to be enamored by the shiny new halo board hovering over the field of play. The retractable roof gives off the allure that you’re playing inside of a spaceship that just happens to be parked on a hill overlooking the southeastern metropolis.
It’s not going to be easy for 18 to 23-year-olds to not be distracted by the ambiance of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Someone is going to muff a punt because they’ll look up at the halo board and think that they’re about to travel to another galaxy. Both teams are going to mess up because of the impressive stadium. Just realize this isn’t the same old Georgia Dome anymore and the Crimson Tide should be good.
