Steven Stamkos is looking ready to go for the NHL season. On Monday he tweeted out a video of him doing edge work in preparation for the season, and he’s looking as sharp as ever.

The talented 27-year-old has had his fair share of injuries during his career to this point. These injuries include missing 65 games last season with a tear in his lateral meniscus. Despite that, the video shows him looking strong and ready to go.

That video should be plenty enough to put to rest any worries that the meniscus tear is going to still be an issue. It also falls in line with the projected recovery time that Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said earlier this summer, expecting Stamkos to be ready to participate in training camp.

Despite only playing in 17 games last season for Tampa Bay, Stamkos had nine goals and 11 assists. This is the type of production that the Lightning and the rest of the NHL has come to expect of Stamkos, as he is just under a point-per-game pace for his 586 games of his career.

Despite his obvious talent, this isn’t the first time that Stamkos has hit a road bump in the form of injury. Back in 2014 he broke his leg, only playing in 37 games in the 2013-14 season and missing out on a chance to represent Canada at the Olympic level.

He also missed out on all but one playoff game during the 2015-16 season when he had to have surgery to help treat thoracic outlet syndrome.

With the video above showing he is ready to go, this should be an exciting season to hopefully see a fully healthy Stamkos.
