Texas A&M vs. UCLA: Preview, predictions, TV schedule and more
Keys for UCLA
The key for UCLA in every game is Josh Rosen. That part’s always clear. His hype train may have slowed down for other trains like Sam Darnold’s or Josh Allen’s to take off down the tracks in college football this season, but when he’s healthy, Rosen is one of the best at the college level under center.
There’s no telling what Rosen is going to look like off the shoulder injury that cut his sophomore season short last year, but we know what he can do when he’s 100 percent. But, he’s going to need some help.
This is as weak of a roster as UCLA has had since he arrived on campus two years ago. He’s got to throw and hand the football off to others on offense. He can’t do it alone. A huge key on Sunday night for the Bruins? Establish some playmakers offensively.
Last season, UCLA rushed for 84.3 yards per contest. That was dead last out of all 128 FBS schools. They have to be able to run the football against an Aggies defense, who although they’ve improved over the last couple of seasons, still gave up 189.6 yards a game on the ground last season. That was tied for 75th in all of college football and that’s with Myles Garrett on the field.
Soso Jamabo? Bolu Olorunfunmi? Somebody please step to the forefront and help your quarterback out on Sunday night.
