College Football Playoff

Look, it’s ridiculously early and you have to be careful not too put a ton of stock into the first games of the season. A lot is going to change over the next two months before the first playoff rankings are revealed. At the same time, I know how rabid college football fans are and they like to have bragging rights over their rivals and puff their chest out on social media.

That said, if I had to pick a top four teams to represent the playoff field after Week 1, I would have Alabama, Penn State, Clemson and Oklahoma. Alabama has the most impressive win with their defeat of Florida State and the other three teams had the most complete and dominating performances in their wins. Granted, none of them played a Power Five opponent, so that’s why I said a lot will change over the next two months.

One thing I feel pretty strongly about is the Big Ten is the best conference in college football ahead of the ACC. Michigan had arguably the second most impressive win with their defense leading the way past Florida and Wisconsin represents the fourth team that will be in the Week 2 Top 25.
